Located at 600 South Wycombe Ave. on the campus of Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Providence provides post-hospital care, short-term rehab and long-term residential care.<\/p>\n<p>During the open house, more than 150 participants enjoyed tours of Providence, a formal ribbon cutting ceremony, live entertainment and refreshments. Local dignitaries, including Yeadon Mayor Rohan K. Hepkins, were among the attendees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt Providence \u2013 and all Marquis member facilities \u2013 we are focused on developing centers of skilled nursing and healthcare excellence,\u201d said Marquis\u2019 Norman Rokeach, chief executive officer. \u201cOur multi-million-dollar renovation of Providence has created a modern, home-like environment for our residents and supports our expanding specialty programming. We are thrilled with the results.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Marquis Health Services launched the renovation immediately following its acquisition of Providence Rehabilitation &amp; Healthcare Center in 2018. The physical improvements have further modernized the two-story, 52,000-square-foot facility. Work included extensive upgrades to the lobby, common areas, and private and semi-private patient rooms, as well as the rehab therapy gym. The updated gym features state-of-the-art equipment \u2013 such as a smart car to help patients simulate actual daily living skills during the rehabilitation process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs Mayor of Yeadon, I\u2019m proud of the impact that Providence Rehabilitation &amp; Healthcare Center will have on this community,\u201d Hepkins said. \u201cTheir investment in\u00a0advanced rehabilitation for residents, as\u00a0well as providing an innovative\u00a0state-of-the art\u00a0facility where all this is housed, promises to\u00a0provide lasting value for\u00a0the residents of this community\u00a0for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Enhancements: Bedside Hemodialysis and Cardio Pulmonary Care<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Providence in September introduced a staff-assisted bedside hemodialysis program in partnership with Compass Home Dialysis. Designed to improve patient quality of life while significantly reducing hospital readmissions, the new program enables residents with end-stage renal disease to receive treatment at the skilled nursing facility, no longer needing to travel to dialysis clinics. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) recently approved portable dialysis to be administered in skilled nursing environments.<\/p>\n<p>Enhanced specialty programming at Providence also includes a physician-led Cardio Pulmonary Care Program. The offering focuses on promoting independence and quality of life through reducing symptoms and decreasing disability in heart and lung patients, while increasing their participation in physical and social activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeveloping specialized programs with leading doctors, hospitals and healthcare organizations is a hallmark of Marquis,\u201d added Rokeach. \u201cAt Providence, our programming is aimed at meeting the needs of the Delaware County community and providing for the very best outcomes for our patients.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Providence Rehabilitation &amp; Healthcare Center maintains a four-star rating from CMS, with a five-star rating for quality measures.
